Karo Bio of Sweden and Alkem Pharma of India enter into an agreement for development of Eprotirome........Karo Bio Press Release 26 April 2011
Eprotirome a product for dyslipidemia (high blood fats) developed by Karo Bio of Sweden will now be jointly developed together with Alkem Pharma of India in venture that will see Alkem Pharma doing phase III trails for India, and also receiving licensing rights to market the product in India and other select developing markets. The co-operation between the companies will result in a cost saving of SEK 100mio from a total estimated level of SEK 400mio for Karo Bio by doing phase III trails in India.
Mumbai based Alkem Pharma is India's 7th largest pharma company is a FDA and MHRA, UK approved pharma company having a leadership position in anti-infection drugs. The company sells products in over 50 countries.
